Operational details to keep in mind before installing or moving a desktop wallet between machines.

Network Litecoin mainnet by default; test builds should stay clearly separated from production wallet data.
Address formats Legacy L..., P2SH M..., and native SegWit ltc1... addresses may appear depending on wallet and receive settings.
Local data Back up wallet files before reinstalling, migrating devices, or replacing a user profile directory.
Secret material Never paste seed phrases, private keys, or wallet backup contents into explorers, support forms, or public issue trackers.
Confirmation review Compare recipient address, amount, fee, and transaction ID before treating a payment as final.
Verification Verify release hashes and detached signatures before opening a downloaded desktop build.

Verification workflow

Use both hash verification and GPG signature checks. A matching checksum confirms file integrity; a valid signature confirms the signer.

1. Download Save the installer and its matching .asc signature file into the same folder.
